All money belongs to God, and as his stewards believers have one job; faithfulness; shown by diagnosing how they actually spend money, deciding to serve God rather than mammon, and maintaining a determined, cheerful commitment to generosity rather than a one-time act of giving.

God is not a God to be played with; wherever he establishes something good and beautiful sin lurks to corrupt it, and the church must recover a healthy fear of God that produces purity of heart rather than hypocritical religious performance.

Jesus' final word from the cross, "Tetelestai" (it is finished), is a perfect-tense declaration that the entire work of redemption; every Old Testament promise, type, and prophecy; was fully and completely accomplished at that moment, leaving nothing for the believer to add to earn or complete their salvation.

Jesus's cursing of the leafy but fruitless fig tree and his cleansing of the temple are one enacted judgment on Israel's dead religion, and his teaching on prayer that follows is Christ preparing his disciples to live and commune with God in a coming world without a temple, where the church itself becomes God's dwelling place.

First Chronicles 12's list of David's mighty men is really a portrait of the kind of people a true king gathers; those who come sacrificially, loyally, broadly, and joyfully; which points forward to the greater Son of David and how people come to Christ.

Psalm 150's fourfold, unceasing summons to glorify God everywhere, for all he is and does, with all we have, is not a demand alien to our good but an invitation into the very self-glorifying, self-giving love the Trinity has enjoyed eternally, so that God's glory is our highest good.

The two blind beggars outside Jericho, though physically sightless, show greater spiritual insight than the disciples and Pharisees because they recognize their own blindness, cry out to Jesus for mercy, and confess him as the divine Son of David; modeling what true conversion looks like.

1 Chronicles 10 shows that Saul's death was the tragic end of a life driven by self-preservation rather than covenant faithfulness; he was near to God's throne, Spirit, and prophet yet never repented, and his grasping loss of the kingdom becomes the backdrop for David's (and ultimately Christ's) receiving of it.

Jesus commands believers to labor to rescue immature and sinning believers rather than abandon them under the guise of love, because; just as a shepherd leaves the ninety-nine to pursue the one lost sheep; it is not the Father's will that any of his little ones perish.

Psalm 110 is a Christmas mystery psalm whose scattered clues about a coming Davidic king-priest only resolve once you see Jesus in them: he is crowned king at his birth, advances his kingdom not by conquest but by converting willing worshippers, was invested as an eternal priest-king before time began, and will return to crush his enemies and complete his reign.

Psalm 118 is voiced by a Davidic king who is delivered from near-death and brings salvation to his people, and this pattern; crown only through the cross; finds its fulfillment in Jesus, who was rejected, died, and rose to bring God's people into the broad place of his steadfast love.

Psalm 98, the psalm behind 'Joy to the World,' is not about Christ's first coming at Bethlehem but a future song of the second coming, and believers sing it now as a foretaste of the joy they will experience when Jesus returns as Savior, Ruler, and Maker.

The Nicene Creed's closing hope of 'the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come' finds its fullest content in Zechariah 14:9, where Yahweh; revealed as the triune God in Christ; returns to defeat the nations at Jerusalem and becomes the sole king and name over the whole earth, an age not yet realized but guaranteed by Christ's own resurrection.

The Nicene Creed's phrase 'for us and for our salvation' teaches that in the incarnation only the Son took on a true human nature alongside his divine nature, a plan fixed in God's mind before time, and its purpose is captured in Luke 19:10; the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost, as illustrated in Zacchaeus.

Creation itself reveals how the Trinity works: God's operations are undivided (Father, Son, and Spirit accomplish one indivisible work), yet that one work is ordered; everything is from the Father, through the Son, and by the Spirit; which is why John 1:3 can say all things were made 'through' the Son without dividing God's being.

Jesus's promise in Matthew 16:27-28 that he will return with his angels means every person's eternal destiny is settled by what they have done: believers, who deny themselves and follow Christ now, will receive rewards, while unbelievers will face judgment and hell.

Preaching from 1 Corinthians 8:6, the pastor argues that Paul roots the church's rejection of idols in the doctrine of God the Father: because all of God's perfections (omniscience, omnipotence, omnipresence, holiness) subsist singularly and personally in the Father, and because he is the source ('from whom are all things') of all creation and of the Son and Spirit, idols have no real existence and cannot truly defile anything.

A true church is defined by four foundational marks flowing from Matthew 16: the confession of Jesus as Lord (Trinitarian confession), true preaching of the word, true ordinances (baptism and communion), and true membership exercised through the keys of church discipline.

Biblical belief, as summarized in the earliest Christian creed embedded in 1 Timothy 3:16, is not a subjective private preference but an objective response of allegiance to God, the fountain of truth, revealed climactically in the incarnate, Spirit-vindicated, and proclaimed Christ.

Reflecting on John MacArthur's death through Elijah's ascension in 2 Kings 2, the preacher argues that though God uses individual servants in singular, seemingly irreplaceable ways, his work does not ultimately depend on any one man; it continues through new workers because it is finally fulfilled and sustained by Christ, the true and final worker who fulfills the law and the prophets.

Jesus alone is the one door to salvation; entered once by faith, not repeated rituals or works; so any teaching that turns entry into a repeatable, works-based process (like Rome's jubilee doors or sacramental re-forgiveness) is false religion that steals glory from God.

Communion is not a mere symbol nor a re-sacrifice of Christ (contra Catholic and Lutheran views), but a real participation that proclaims God as our provider, Jesus as our provision through his atoning blood, and the church united as one body through shared union with Christ.

The binding of Isaac in Genesis 22 is a deliberate, detailed foreshadowing of the substitutionary atonement of Christ: what God required, prepared, submitted, offered, and substituted in the ram anticipates the greater Son whom the Father would actually offer up without rescue at Calvary.

The Canaanite woman's story shows that salvation belongs not just to Israel but to the whole world, and that the only way to receive it is to see yourself as low and undeserving; a 'dog' begging for crumbs; rather than trusting in your own goodness.

Jesus teaches that defilement comes from the heart, not from food or ritual washing, so the law's purpose is to expose the sinner's corrupt heart and drive them to see their need for the Savior.

Surveying the completed study of Proverbs, the wicked and the righteous are shown to diverge in every category of life; trouble, joy, fellowship with God, and ultimate destiny; because wisdom means living in step with how God made the world while folly fights against it, and this pattern culminates not in works righteousness but in the deliverance that comes to those who trust Christ.

Worship can look sincere and religious yet be entirely vain; Jesus himself calls it hatred toward him; when people either treat him as a spectacle who exists to meet their needs without submitting to his lordship, or treat him as an obstacle to be rejected for the sake of human tradition that has nullified God's written word.

Ephesians 6:1-4 calls children to obey their parents and parents to raise children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord, and this obedience-based flourishing is only possible because God gives a new heart through the grace of the gospel, not through willpower alone.

Psalm 8 shows that the transcendent, majestic God has ordained humanity to rule his creation, a destiny lost in the fall but fulfilled through Jesus, who took on mortal humanity, died, and rose to an immortal glorified humanity so that all united to him will share his rule over the world to come.

God's discipline of believers, though painful, is proof of his fatherly love and is designed for two purposes: to grow us in holiness and to preserve us from final condemnation, unlike his wrath toward unbelievers.

Jesus reveals his full deity to the disciples by walking on the water and declaring 'I am' in the midst of a storm, teaching them; and us; that even when he seems absent he sees our trials and calls us not to fear but to keep our eyes fixed on him and cry out for salvation.

Jesus's parable of the dragnet in Matthew 13 teaches that every person, without exception, is caught up in God's coming judgment and stands condemned by the law regardless of relative goodness or badness; only those rescued by faith in Christ, who fulfilled the law on their behalf, escape the fiery furnace of hell.

Working through the leadership-focused proverbs of chapters 25 through 29, the sermon argues that Scripture presents a coherent portrait of godly rulership; kings who take counsel, free the economy, lead decisively, and execute justice; yet all of it is finally held within the mystery of God's sovereign hand over every ruler's heart.

True, God-designed friendship; modeled ultimately on Christ laying down his life for his friends; requires wisdom to avoid destructive friendships (with fools, frauds, and the overly critical) and to cultivate faithful, loyal friends who love at all times and speak hard truth in love.

Jesus' parables of the mustard seed and the leaven teach that the kingdom of God begins in obscurity and weakness; like a baby in a manger or a lone boat in Galilee; yet is destined to permeate and transform the entire world, reaching its full flowering in the millennial kingdom.

Because Israel enjoyed real, overwhelming spiritual blessings from God yet still fell into idolatry, immorality, testing God, and grumbling, believers who assume their own spiritual security are most vulnerable to complacency-driven sin; the remedy is not self-effort but trust in God's faithfulness to provide a way of escape.

When life proves inscrutable and unjust; when the righteous suffer and the wicked prosper; the biblical response is not despair or anger but grateful, God-honoring enjoyment of the ordinary gifts God gives, coupled with wholehearted work, because ultimate control belongs to God alone.

Wisdom is God's precious gift for shaping godly character and living for what is lasting, but wisdom has real limits: it cannot give you control over your life or circumstances, and even the wisest pursuit remains imperfect because of sin; so true wisdom ends not in self-mastery but in fearing God and resting your life in his sovereign hand.

Preaching through 1 Corinthians 12:12-21, Pastor Connor argues that the church, despite its vast diversity of ethnicity, class, and spiritual gifting, is one body created by the baptizing work of the Holy Spirit, and that every member is indispensable; so no one may say 'I do not belong' out of insecurity or 'I have no need of you' out of pride or contentment with the status quo.

In the parable of the sower, the effectiveness of evangelism depends neither on the style of the evangelist nor on any variation in the gospel message itself, but entirely on the condition of the heart (soil) that receives it, and Christians are called simply to faithfully sow the same unchanging seed everywhere.

In Matthew 13, Jesus shifts to parables as a dual-edged tool: for those with faith, they reveal the previously hidden mystery of the kingdom (the church age between Christ's rejection and his return), while for those who have hardened their hearts against him, the same parables fulfill Isaiah 6 by concealing truth and confirming judgment.
