Biblical love, unlike Western love which is unlimited in scope but limited in demands, always terminates on God himself first, and this God-centered love moves in a cycle: from God's love for himself, to his love for us, producing obedience, which produces joy, which produces sacrificial love for others; making true love inherently offensive because it insists on what is truly best rather than merely accepting people as they are.
