Christians have been given the same authority, power, and presence Jesus promised the early church, but many have turned the Great Commission into what Kaci calls 'the great insulation'; building convenient, comfortable lives that shield them from the very people Jesus is compassionately pursuing; living the heart of the shepherd means relinquishing privilege, integrating into the ordinary, and embracing inconvenience to reach the lost.
