First Sunday in Lent - February 26, 2023

Preaching on the word 'Spirit' (Hebrew Ruach) as part of a Lenten word-study series, the sermon argues that the same divine breath that hovered over the chaos (tohu va vohu) at creation and animates human life is the Spirit by which Jesus tells Nicodemus he must be 'born from above'; and that this poetic, untamed word cannot be reduced to a dictionary definition but must be lived into during Lent.
