Paul insists on an apostolic gospel that is grace alone; Jesus plus nothing; so that the freedom already secured in Christ must not be undermined by adding requirements like circumcision or other law-keeping, and true grace produces joyful, non-competitive partnership rather than rivalry among gospel workers.
