There is no neutral ground in the cosmic conflict between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan; every person and every action either subverts David's (and ultimately Christ's) kingdom or serves it, and serving the kingdom means fighting only as necessary while extending mercy according to a kingdom ethic.
