Sin is inherently insane because it always attempts to dethrone God and enthrone self, and while it can be temporarily restrained by obedience to God's law of loving God and neighbor, it will ultimately and always lose to the sovereign king Jesus Christ, who conquered sin through his own self-emptying obedience unto death.
