A sermon on 1 Timothy 4
Paul's prophecy in 1 Timothy 4:1-7 that some would depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits is being fulfilled by false teachers in Ephesus who, holding an over-realized eschatology that claimed the resurrection had already occurred, forbade marriage and certain foods, and the antidote is receiving God's good creation with thanksgiving while being nourished on sound doctrine.
