A sermon on 1 Timothy 3
In 1 Timothy 3:14-16 Paul relates the Scriptures, the church, and the gospel to one another: the church is the household of the living God and a pillar and buttress of the truth (not the sole or final one, and not a hierarchical institution like Rome's), because Scripture itself, not any magisterium, tells us how to behave in God's house and defines the mystery of godliness, which is the gospel of Christ.
